The Brief
The garden already benefited from a sandstone patio laid by the builders, but the rest of the garden was a bland lawn with a slope towards the rear the client was keen to eliminate.
The Solution
The client was keen to make the garden much more interesting and the slope allowed us to incorporate staggered retaining walls to give the garden structure. Rendered walls on their own were too expensive, so a combination of oak and render were used to make the most of the budget but also to create interest and tie in with the oak framed orangery. A pergola creates a seating area amidst raised beds and planters for vegetables and a deck is positioned to catch the sun.
