The Brief
The existing garden was tired and lacked interest and style and the planting was overgrown and riddled with tree roots of Lime which were sprouting up all through the garden. The existing patio was too small and the sunniest spot in the garden had a shed in! The clients had spent some time living in Japan and wanted something with an oriental flavour to house their stone lanterns, they were also keen on contemporary design.
The Solution
Two buildings were combined into one larger custom made contemporary building with a glass end for growing plants. The patio was extended using eco decking, as the north facing garden made the use of real timber inpractical. The willow tree was retained and made the focal point of a pebble garden to house the lanterns and a new deck was installed in this lower part of the garden to catch the sun. The sleek design features Vande Moortel pavers and a bespoke bench which will weather to grey to match the eco decking.
