The Brief
This tiny space belonging to a new build house was surrounded by imposing high walls and fences and was overlooked. The clients wanted a seating area but didn't want it to dominate the garden or the table, and wanted the chairs to be the main view from their patio doors.
The Solution
A pergola will help provide privacy and screen the high walls when the climbers grow up it. An irregularly-shaped patio keeps it from dominating the view, allowing plants to spill over the edges. A water feature is lit at night to provide a focal point and will eventually have a green backdrop as the climbers cover the red brick walls. A small bench allows the clients to catch the last of the afternoon sun.
